Rising energy prices, government incentives and enhanced public image are driving energy efficiency in buildings to new heights as a growing number of building owners race to reduce energy consumption, according to the results of the fifth annual, global Energy Efficiency Indicator survey.
Johnson Controls today announced the winners of its 10th annual Igniting Creative Energy (ICE) Challenge. ICE is a national competition that encourages kindergarten through 12th grade students to develop creative actions and ideas about energy efficiency. The Energy Efficiency Forum aims to promote an energy efficiency ethic through the presentation of national and worldwide views on energy efficiency and the resulting impact on the environment, national security and economic growth.
U.S. Secretary of the Navy Ray Mabus and Bank of America Corp. Chairman Charles O. Holliday, Jr. will be speaking at the 22nd Annual North America Energy Efficiency Forum on Thursday, June 16th at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. Mabus will address energy security and how energy efficiency can help save lives. Holliday will talk about the impact of energy efficiency on American competitiveness. They will join leading policymakers, energy experts and elected officials at the event, which will be webcast live via the Virtual Energy Forum.
The Energy Efficiency Forum is now accepting nominations for its 2011 Energy Leadership Awards. Established in 1991, the Energy Leadership Awards recognize individuals who have provided exemplary leadership in instituting and advancing energy efficiency in the United States and abroad. The Awards will be presented during the 22nd Annual Energy Efficiency Forum, taking place on June 15-16 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. The deadline for nominations is May 13.
U.S. Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke and other leading policymakers and business executives provided insights into “Energy Efficiency: Innovative Approaches, Proven Solutions” during the 21st Annual Energy Efficiency Forum. The event, co-sponsored by Johnson Controls (NYSE: JCI) and the U.S. Energy Association (USEA), was held this week at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., and webcast online through the Virtual Energy Forum.
